Virgil van Dijk might have left Celtic a long time ago but he remains a popular figure amongst the supporters, especially for what he has gone on to achieve after leaving Parkhead. The Dutch defender has established himself as one of the best centre-backs of all-time.
He left Celtic to join Southampton. He impressed there and earned himself a record move to Liverpool.
It is at Anfield that Van Dijk has built up his legacy, winning every trophy possible with the Reds and restoring them as one of the top teams on the planet. He continues to go strong to this day.
Van Dijk was recently involved with his national team. Netherlands got themselves a come from behind 2-1 win over Ireland in the UEFA EURO Qualifiers at Aviva Stadium.

It would be safe to say that Van Dijk is one of the best players to represent Celtic in recent memory. What he has achieved after leaving the club is even more remarkable.
Everybody could see Van Dijk's talent even while he was at Celtic Park. But not many would have guessed that he would compete with Lionel Messi for the Ballon d'Or some years later.
Van Dijk is 32 years old but remains a stalwart at the back for Liverpool. He was also recently named the captain of the club after Jordan Henderson left over the summer.
It is good to see that he still has not forgotten his time at Celtic Park. Hopefully, he can play in front of the Parkhead fans once again someday.
A Champions League tie between Liverpool and Celtic under the lights at Parkhead would certainly be a blockbuster matchup.
