Celtic Superstar Tipped For January Move to Chelsea

The Celtic superstar has been tipped for a January move to Chelsea, who are in need of strikers.

Chelsea are a club in trouble right now. Despite signing one big-money player after another, the Blues have regressed considerably since their change in ownership. Right now, they find themselves struggling to get into the Premier League's top 10. Could a Celtic superstar be what Mauricio Pochettino's side needs?

Chelsea have been struggling to score goals for a while now. It goes back to when Thomas Tuchel was the manager of the club.

They faced the same issues under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard as well, and now Pochettino. The Blues need a reliable goalscorer and quickly.

Kyogo Furuhashi has been scoring for fun since he arrived at Celtic. He scored 20 goals in his debut season with the club, a large chunk of which he spent out injured. He got himself 34 goals in the previous campaign. And the Japanese international already has 4 to his name in this one.

Chelsea have been linked with Ivan Toney, Dusan Vlahovic and a few others. The name of Kyogo has been put forward as well by one of their former players.

Pat Nevin spent five years at Chelsea. While speaking to OLBG about who he would like to see the club sign in January, he said:

"I think Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic would be a good move, too, as he'd finish off a lot of the missed chances."

Kyogo recently signed a long-term contract extension with Celtic. But if a club the stature of Chelsea do come calling in the future, it would not be a surprise to see him consider an exit.

Of course, Kyogo leaving would be a mammoth blow for Celtic. Especially if it happens in January. Fans will be hoping that the Japanese star remains at the club for as long as possible.

To be very honest, it would be a surprise if Chelsea made a move for Kyogo. They have stuck to going after young players in recent times.

Also, Kyogo does not have the big-name value that their fans will be expecting to be brought in.
