Celtic Player Moves Closer to Exit With Agent Set to Hold Talks

The Celtic player is moving closer towards the exit door with his agent reportedly set to hold talks with the club.

Celtic have a lot of problems to deal with right now, as they saw their side slip behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race at the weekend, further increasing the pressure on Brendan Rodgers and company.

Amid a multitude of problems, one issue that needs to be dealt with as soon as possible is the situation of Liel Abada.

Abada has been left out of the squad in the last couple of games as it looks like the winger is not in the right frame of mind to play.

Rodgers has been very supportive of the player and it is a complicated situation to be in for sure if you are Abada.

Things cannot continue like this forever though and a solution needs to be found quickly. The most logical one seems to be finding him a new club.

The club might have been preparing for Abada's eventual exit for a while. It is quite possible that Nicolas Kuhn was signed last month as his replacement.

According to Sport 5 (via Daily Record), Abada's agent will arrive in Glasgow soon in an attempt to facilitate a move to the MLS.

The MLS transfer window is still open, which opens up a possible pathway for Abada to leave Celtic immediately and not have to wait until the summer.

There could be one stumbling block to any potential exit though. It is believed that Celtic are not interested in him leaving on a loan deal.

So, clubs interested in him would need to agree a fee with Celtic. Abada was believed to have a £10 million-plus transfer value in the summer. So, it might be a significant figure we are talking about.

Abada has been a fantastic contributor for Celtic under the right conditions. Over his first two seasons at the club, working with Ange Postecoglou, he provided 48 goal contributions in total.

Abada's recent form, injury problems and general lack of football might have seen his transfer value go down significantly over the past months in the eyes of the clubs looking to sign him.

All we can do is wait and watch how the situation transpires surrounding Abada. One has to acknowledge that is a very difficult position that he finds himself in at Celtic right now.

Parting ways might be in the interest of both parties involved. Making that a reality might not be straightforward.

Frankly, a loan move for Abada could be beneficial to Celtic. A good spell away from the club could help him increase his transfer value once again while also increasing interest in his signature at the same time.
