Celtic Player Completes Very Late Deadline Day Exit

The Celtic player has completed a very late summer transfer Deadline Day exit, leaving the club on loan.

The summer transfer Deadline Day always goes down to the wire. Celtic fans will remember the club signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on loan from Tottenham Hotspur at the very end back in 2021.

This time around, there has been a last-minute exit from Parkhead. The departure was expected though, especially considering the player's recent actions.

Sead Haksabanovic did not earn himself any new fans in Glasgow with a recent post that he made on Instagram. Days later, he departs the club, even if on a temporary basis.

Stoke City have confirmed on their website that they have completed the season-long loan signing of Haksabanovic from Celtic.

For a while, it was believed that Haksabanovic would leave Celtic permanently. That has not happened, but if he performs well at Stoke City, one cannot rule out the chances of The Potters trying to sign him on a permanent basis next summer.

Celtic signed Haksabanovic last summer and he arrived with a lot of expectations surrounding him. He did perform quite well in the first half of the season and bagged himself a Player of the Month award in November 2022.

Things have gone down for him since then. The World Cup meant that club football was stopped for a while.

After the return from the World Cup break, Haksabanovic never managed to find his way back into the team.

It is understandable why he was not able to keep up his performance levels in the second half of the 22/23 season. He barely got any starts and unsurprisingly was unable to build up any sort of positive momentum.

The move to Stoke City provides him a chance to show what he is capable of doing. The Potters finished in the bottom half of the Championship table last season and will surely be hoping to improve upon that.
