Celtic Could Sign PSG Player in Deadline Day Move

Celtic could potentially sign the Paris Saint-Germain player on Deadline Day in a position of need.

Celtic have left it late in the January transfer window, that is for sure. It looks like the days of early signings are gone with Ange Postecoglou and it is back to business as usual at Parkhead.

That would mean letting transfer sagas drag on longer than needed and making loan signings with little to no long-term benefits.

Celtic are believed to be closing in on a loan deal for Norwich City's Adam Idah, who is expected to provide competition to Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Left-back has been viewed as another position in need of reinforcements and that might arrive in the form of a Paris Saint-Germain player.

According to the Daily Mail (via The Scottish Sun), Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa may be available for a move to Celtic.

Kurzawa has been at PSG since 2015. In recent years, he has found opportunities difficult to come by.

He also spent time out on loan at Fulham but did not do much of note at the Premier League club either.

Now, it looks like Kurzawa is possibly open to the idea of joining Celtic. It remains to be seen if a move ends up taking place before the close of the January transfer window.

Kurzawa is without a doubt a top player on his day. Or at least he used to be in his prime. We have seen very little of him in action in recent years.

Celtic certainly need another left-back and a short-term loan deal for Kurzawa would not be the worst idea in the world. Even if he has had his injury problems in recent years.

Celtic had been linked with Tiago Araujo earlier in the summer but there have been suggestions the club were not ready to pay the transfer fee Estoril were looking for.

Now, with very little time left in the January transfer window, Celtic have been left scrambling for options.

Signing someone like Kurzawa, at this stage of his career, would not be ideal or showcase a long-term vision. But at the same time, Celtic could do worse.

If Kurzawa can find his form and fitness, he has the potential to be an excellent short-term signing for Celtic.
