Another Celtic Player Set to Leave on Loan
Celtic have been pretty active in the ongoing summer transfer window, both in terms of arrivals and departures. They have brought in five fresh faces while key stars like Carl Starfelt and Jota have headed out of the exit door.
There are a few who have left on loan deals as well in order to gain first-team experience. Ben McPherson recently joined Queen's Park while Ben Summers signed for Dunfermline Athletic.
They are two of the best young talents that the club have right now. And it looks like another one is headed for a loan exit as well.
Bosun Lawal has been considered one of the best young talents at Celtic for a long time now. That has not converted into first-team chances though.
Until now, Lawal has only made one appearance for the club at the senior level, and even that was a late cameo off the bench. So, heading out on loan feels like the right step for him.
Lawal is 20 years old. At this stage of his career, he needs to be playing every week in order to develop in the senior game.
While McPherson and Summers remained in Scotland, it looks like Lawal will be heading to England. The English League One to be exact.
According to The Scottish Sun, Scott Brown is set to snap up Lawal on a season-long loan. Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers were believed to be keen on signing him as well.
Playing in League One should be a good experience for Lawal. It is not the top flight, but it is still a competitive level.
If anyone has doubts about the benefit of going out on loan to League One, they should look no further than Callum McGregor. He spent a season at Notts County.
During that season at Notts County, he was teammates with a certain Jack Grealish, also on loan. Wonder how his career turned out.
